The beautiful thing about our dreadlock extensions, is that you can choose ANY color/s regardless of what your hair color currently is and they will blend BEAUTIFULLY.

 Unlike traditional hair extensions, you do not need to match your hair perfectly to achieve the high end, luxury look! For example: I (Ellie) am naturally a red head, I have NEVER dyed my hair, HOWEVER, I have had an auburn set, pink set (shown in video below), 1/2 black, 1/2 green set and a platinum blonde set! and they all blend beautifully!

Are you ready for the secret? You sleep like normal! I (Ellie) personally toss them above my pillow (or use them as a pillow). I prefer to sleep with a silk pillow case to minimize frizz, and some of our clients prefer to sleep with a silk cap on! Either way is totally fine!
They are made out of Kanekalon fiber! Which is a fancy name for synthetic hair (Barbie hair)

 

 

YES you can wash our dreadlock extensions. Since they are made out of synthetic hair they do not hold onto water and do not have the risk of molding like human dreadlocks can if not treated correctly.

Our dreadlock extensions are incredibly easy to take care of. When it comes to washing them here is what we recommend. Wash with any kind of shampoo, (we prefer to use all natural ingredient shampoos, especially shampoo bars) but thats just a preference.

DO NOT use conditioner while they are installed. 1. Conditioner can cause build up, which will make it hard to brush your hair out after removal. 2. They can cause them to slip, which will lead to removal sooner. 3. They are dreadlocks! They don't need it! :)

When shampooing very gently (too avoid frizz) massage your scalp.
TIP: The less you wash (cause frizz) the longer you will be able to keep them in. I (Ellie) only wash about once per install ( I have trained my hair over several years to get to this point ;) ).

You Can use silicone scalp massagers as well, but again keep in mind the more you use, the more frizz will occur.

MAKE SURE TO DEEP CLEAN THEM AFTER YOU TAKE THEM OUT! Soak in the sink with lots of shampoo. Rinse and repeat until water runs clean.
Drying your dreadlock extensions is so easy! Feel free to blow dry if you desire, but you can also air dry!

 

I recommend blow drying in the winter if you are planning on going out.
The dreadlocks themselves will dry faster than your actual hair will since they are made out of synthetic hair and not porus unlike human hair.
Swimming with our dreadlock extensions is SO FUN! You look and feel like a real life mermaid and look beautiful inside and out of the water. 

 

Our dreadlocks do not hold onto water like human hair does. However in the water it can be heavy, but shouldn't be anything unbearable. I (Ellie) have same in the ocean, pools and lakes dozens of times!
We even have free divers and people who live on sail boats and love them!
Our recommendations are have fun! Take lots of pictures, embrace the mermaid hair. Once you are done swimming feel free to rinse or wash them. Although salt water and chlorine will not damage the dreadlocks, remember your hair is wrapped around them and needs to be rinsed and washed :)

You might be thinking "But my dreadlocks wont fit my helmet" and that might be true, however, there is a solution.... you ready? Buy a new helmet!
I (Ellie) am a motorcyclist, snowboarder and (beginner) rock climber. With all of these hobbies I have 2 different helmet sizes :)

If you are wanting a longer length do what I (Ellie) does. I offset them, meaning I make the side im braiding shorter! I will do this on the bottom 4 maybe 5 rows! It gives it the illusion of being longer and having layers!
We do have plans in the near future to have shorter lengths!

 

I will start this by saying we don't encourage this as it can cause the ends to come frayed for a little bit while they mature. HOWEVER, we do have many people who do it and here is what we recommend.

 

Get sharp scissors and cut at a VERY sharp angle and dont just take one snip. Take multiple micro snips while dragging your scissors down to create a pretty point!

Are you ready for the true beauty of our dreadlock extensions? You will NEVER "NEED" to replace them! (As long as they are taken care of) I (Ellie) have been wearing my first set for over 6 years!

 

Unlike traditional extensions and the nature of them being dreadlocks you do not have to baby them to get the max amount of time out of them.
INFACT, the rougher you are on them E.X.: hiking, swimming, driving with windows down, outdoor actives etc. the better and more mature they get!

 

A Minimum of 3 inches long!

According to hundreds of our customers and myself included NO! Compared to most other dreadlock extensions made using other methods, NO! However, I do have to say that what might not be itchy to most people, can be itchy to another! 

Let me tell you, the method we use is a twisting method to minimize itch and actually makes them incredibly soft. Traditional methods like the crotchet method is more likely to cause discomfort. :)

NOTE: If you are an individual who wears them and experiences consistent scalp irritation or bumps you could possible be allergic to the synthetic hair! If this is the case, there are 2 options, 1. soak the dreadlock extensions at least once in apple cider vinegar for 12 hours. After wash with shampoo, let dry and try again and see if it continues.

If the irritation continues you may need to stop wearing them. But before that option try using some dreadlock refresher spray or possibly even rose hip seed oil or any other type of light (not super thick) oil that is made to relieve scalp irritation :
