Why these are considered a protective hairstyle? While wearing these, your hair will be braided 6+ weeks at a time. Braids are easily the most efficient style to protect your hair. Look at every Renaissance painting, all the woman have long, thick hair. You'll also notice often it is braided! You'll wake up feeling like a goddess and will cut your get-ready time in half because your hair is already done for the day. You'll keep your hair protected by not applying toxic products or using heat. No need for that because your hair is already flawless.
What can you NOT do with these? I haven't figured that out yet... You can swim with them, workout with them, ride motorcycles, let your baby pull on them without ripping out your PP baby hairs you've been working so hard to grow, camp with them (and look like a woodland fairy the entire time), skydive with them, wash them reuse them forever etc. etc.
What colors will look best on me? Some quick tips:
All the color combos look amazing, so take the pressure off yourself and know that whatever you decide will look amazing.
- Does Gold Jewelry look good on you? You're most likely warm toned. These colors as bases (a majority of the packs will look good on you): Caramel Blonde, Medium Blonde, Light Blonde, Dark Brown, Auburn, Chocolate Brown, Syrup Brown, Warm Caramel Melt
- Does Silver Jewelry look good on you? You're most likely cool toned. Use these colors as a base: Platinum Blonde, Sandy Blonde, Ash Brown, Sandy Blonde Melt, Almond Melt, Toffy, Silver Grey
- If you wear both Gold and Silver, awesome! The world is your oyster as you're most likely a mix of both warm and cool toned just like Ellie :)
- We've had brunettes wear blonde dreads, blondes wear brunette dreads, red heads wear platinum blondes, and platinum blondes wear reds.

How do I install them? We'll send you an install video with your order of dreads, or you can find it: "Dallas and Ellie McGee" on Youtube. It's just a traditional 3 piece braid to install them. Ellie taught Dallas how to install them the day they got back from their honeymoon. Since then, he has installed her dreads many times on her and on hundreds of other women! Show your hairstylist the install video so they can learn, or bribe your sister to come over with pizza. You can also install these on yourself and you'll only improve on each install.
How long do they last? Ellie's first set is from 2016 and are STILL in perfect condition even after wearing them a majority of the last 10 years. We're convinced these dreads will live longer than you. We handcraft them to last. And we even back it with a lifetime guarantee of any dread maintenance you may need!
Disclaimer:

2. Color of dreads may differ per batch due to our wholesaler. We suggest purchasing all your dreads at once to avoid difference in color from dye batches.
For Celtic dreads you will need to brush out the ends to maintain the whispy ends, low heat can be used on them! Straightener, curling iron etc.
These are easy enough you can install on your own or convince your spouse to do them for you :)

This blue is so fun! I added two packs as a little POP of color for my set and am so glad I did! I purchased one set of braids/twists and one set of dainty dreads and I love how they add texture and subtle color to my mix. This is kind of a grey-blue color and is not garishly bright, it’s almost more dusty in nature.

I get so many compliments on this color, it complements the carrot top and reds I have and I absolutely love it!
I have some color blindness and wasn’t sure exactly how they’d turn out, but they are perfect! They are a dark teal, slightly on the greener side than blue and just amazing to go with my other greens! I love them so much and plan on buying more in different styles!

Ehh I bought a 6 packs and kind of disappointed. Not exactly cheap and the second I unpackaged them I noticed some pieces had a big ball of fiber and pretty loose. Mind you I haven’t put them in yet but some of the strands look like they may have already been worn. Considering the price point I got these thinking they would last awhile but I don’t think they would make it a year. I wish there were more honest reviews. I would not have spent the money on them or would have taken a chance elsewhere for a better price point.

I have ordered several packs of skinny dainty but this pack was noticeably different. This pack the dreads were skinner than a pencil thickness compared to the other skinny packs I’ve ordered were thicker than a pencil. I was thrown off my the thickness difference.
